Senior Strategist Vacancy pdf

Prime Decision is a behaviour change practice. We focus on behaviours which are good for customers and businesses alike – and finding smart, resourceful ways to bring them about. Our mantra is ‘Why force it?’

We specialise in integrating insights and methodologies from fields like social psychology and behavioural economics. Our work spans research, analysis, insight, strategy, communications planning, experimentation and behaviour change content. The approach is data-driven yet holistic; for instance, changing a digital customer behaviour may involve tactical tweaks to a website or a broader examination of internal narratives and processes.

We’re grateful for attracting collaborative brands which like to challenge convention. Our client-base includes Vivo Barefoot, Red Bull, Ovo Energy, The Movember Foundation, Toyota and Nintendo.

Headquartered in Bristol, we emphasise applying behaviour change principles to our own lives too. Developing a healthy, balanced internal culture is key; right now this means experimenting with open dialogue, meditation and standing desks. We’re looking for an exceptional, ambitious and self-aware individual to join us.

You will be a credible and likable insight or strategy professional. You’re ready for a new chapter – and would love to help grow an agile, young company.

Colleagues describe you as a doer not a director. Although comfortable in workshops with senior stakeholders, you equally relish getting stuck into research, messaging development and measurement frameworks. You’re happiest when getting immersed in problems, exploring new ideas and perspectives – and ultimately finding solutions that work.

Inquisitive and analytical, as a child you asked loads of challenging questions – and haven’t stopped since. Yet this desire to think conceptually and laterally is balanced by sharp commercial instincts, pragmatism and an appetite for genuine impact. Data is an old friend, not a new foe.

Innovation, strategy and insight will be central to your expertise and interests. You may have already thrived in a start-up or agency environment, or may hail from a management consultancy or client-side role. Your experience in behaviour insight may derive from a specific field like customer experience, employee behaviour change or market research. Qualifications in psychology, behavioural science or economics are desirable but not essential.

Prime Decision is small and ambitious, so flexibility and enthusiasm are essential. You will collaborate on a diverse range of projects, often within bespoke teams which might include researchers, consultants, creatives and academics.

You’ll be involved in all aspects of project work, from proposal creation to results evaluation, as well as contributing to processes and a rich internal culture.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conceiving and delivering insight and strategy projects.
  • Designing and overseeing behavioural change strategies, experimentation and optimisation programmes.
  • Facilitating workshops and co-creation sessions, often with senior clients.
  • Creating effective and precise reports, roadmaps and presentations.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, academics and freelancers; identifying skills gaps, managing expectations, challenging assumptions.
  • Providing internal mentorship, training and support, potentially with a view to growing your own team.
  • Monitoring and evaluating new behavioural research, publications and models, as well as industry best-practices.
  • Collaborating on discrete research projects, methodology development and authoring thought-leadership content.

The package will reflect your skills, experience and values, so we’ll need to shape it together. But we’re no McKinsey.

Ideally you’ll be based at our headquarters in Bristol, with travel to clients in London and beyond. We’re supportive of remote working and open to the unconventional, so let us know your situation. Regarding start-date, we can be flexible for the right candidate.

To apply, please send a CV and introductory email to by 1st July 2015.
